Elgåfossen
📍 Norway
Elgåfossen is a forest waterfall in Enningdalen, southeastern Halden Municipality, where the watercourse forms part of the Norway–Sweden border; on the Swedish side it is known as Älgafallet. The cascade descends roughly 46 metres over a broad staircase of dark, fractured rock, creating a scene shared by two countries rather than divided by a visible barrier. From below, the layered drop, mossy banks and dense woodland give the falls their recognizable depth and texture. Water volume changes markedly with the seasons, and snowmelt or sustained rain produces a wider, more forceful curtain across the rock face.
