The Eldon Street Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in the bustling city of Glasgow. Located in the north of the city, the bridge crosses the River Clyde and connects the city centre to the district of Glasgow Green. The suspension structure was designed by civil engineer Thomas Telford and was completed in 1844. It carries both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and offers stunning views to those who cross it. There is a park underneath the bridge and the river banks have been fitted with accessible pathways and benches for visitors who want to take in the scenery. The bridges offers an excellent opportunity to admire the city’s skyline and is a popular spot for photographers.
