📍 Iceland
Eldfell volcano is located in the Westman Islands off the southern coast of Iceland and is an active lava field. The eruptions of Eldfell in 1973 made a huge impact on the Vestmannaeyjabær island's population, reshaping the island and sparking the evacuation of some 400 people. Today, the volcano serves as a great attraction for hikers and photographers, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. To access Eldfell, simply take the chairlift from the visitor center, which is just a few minutes' walk from the harbour. Once you reach the summit, take in the expansive views of their iconic surroundings: the volcano scarred lava fields, the sea, the neighbouring islands, and the distant mainland of Iceland. Remember, Eldfell is an active volcano, so please pay attention and be careful!
