Eivissa, also known as Ibiza Town, is the island’s capital and main port, set on Ibiza’s southeastern coast. Its historic focus is Dalt Vila, the fortified upper town rising above the harbor behind monumental Renaissance walls and bastions. Part of the UNESCO-listed Ibiza, Biodiversity and Culture site, this hilltop quarter preserves layers of Mediterranean history in steep lanes, stone gateways and tightly packed houses, with the Cathedral of Santa Maria crowning the skyline. Below, the white façades of La Marina and Sa Penya meet the waterfront, creating recognizable views where fishing boats, yachts, limestone ramparts and the sea overlap. From across the port, the height and geometry of the citadel are especially clear; inside the walls, arches, worn masonry and abrupt glimpses of blue water define the scene.
