The Danube Delta is a unique environment of forests and wetlands, located at the border where Romania meets the Black Sea. It is the second largest river delta in Europe, and the best preserved in its region. The Danube Delta is home to 260 species of birds, representing almost a third of all the bird species in Europe. There is variety of wildlife species, including turtles, fish, beavers, foxes, wolves, deer, chamois and otters. Canoeing or boat rides are the best way to explore the Delta, giving visitors a chance to admire its amazing natural beauty. Stay at least one night in the Delta, so you can enjoy the perfect silence and admire the wonderful starry nights. Do not forget to bring your binoculars and camera to capture the wildlife!
