📍 From South Side, Germany
Eiserner Steg is a small iron footbridge crossing the River Main in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It connects the Oederweg near Dockland to Sachsenhausen. The bridge, constructed in 1868, and is a symbol of Frankfurts willingness to bridge the gap separating the city’s traditional Frankfurter Altstadt and the newer sections. The Eiserner Steg has been a pedestrian bridge since its opening in May 1868. The bridge consists of large panels containing small, ostentatious decorations which can be seen from afar. It's the perfect spot to take in the beautiful city of Frankfurt am Main during the day or at night. There are also a variety of restaurants and cafes near the bridge, which are perfect for a drink or a meal.
