The Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum, and Boyhood Home is located in Abilene, Kansas, and is dedicated to the 34th President of the United States. The Eisenhower Monument near the library is a 25-foot tall bronze statue of Ike in his World War II uniform, holding a model of the Globe. The monument is surrounded by an impressive granite wall, which contains quotes from the general about his life and values. A number of sculptures around the monument depict different aspects of Eisenhower’s life and presidency, such as naval convoy protection (the Guns of Normandy memorial) and space exploration. Visitors can also explore a walking trail through the area, where they’ll find a bust of Dwight D. Eisenhower and other monuments and sculptures. The monument is located at 200 Southeast 4th Street and is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Admission to the Eisenhower Monument is free.
