The renowned Eiffel Tower in Paris, France towers over the skyline of the City of Lights, impressively standing at 324 meters (1,063 ft) tall. The tower, which was originally built for the 1889 World's Fair, is now one of the most iconic landmarks in the world, and the single most visited monument in France. The Eiffel Tower has three main levels – picnic area, the second floor and the top floor with beautiful city views – that can all be reached via stairs or lifts, and the summit can be accessed through an elevator. Visitors will want to purchase a ticket to visit the tower and can purchase different tickets – such as entry-only, skip-the-line, or with a meal or drinks – for a range of prices. There are plenty of photo opportunities of the tower from below and around the Champ de Mars park, as well as from the Trocadéro across the river Seine. The Eiffel Tower is open all year round, though closing times and hours of operation do vary with the season.
