The Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world, located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It stands at a staggering 324 meters high and was built in 1889 for the 1889 World's Fair. The structure consists of 18,000 pieces of wrought iron and 2400 steel pieces, connected by 2.5 million rivets. The tower’s elevators take visitors up to the observation deck where visitors can experience some of the most breathtaking views of Paris. In the same vicinity of the Eiffel Tower lies the historical Pont Alexandre III which is a Beaux-Arts style arch bridge connecting two banks of the Seine to the east of the Champs-ÉlysÉES. It was named in honour of Tsar Alexander III and has intricate stone carvings, bronze statues and two massive stone pillars with show stopping lamps. A popular monument in Paris, Pont Alexandre III is definitely worth a visit. Both monuments are easily accessible with public transportation.
