Église Saint-Sébastien de Nancy
📍 France
Église Saint-Sébastien stands on Place Charles III in Nancy’s busy commercial quarter, close to the covered market and the streets of the Ville-Neuve. Built in the 18th century to designs by Jean-Nicolas Jennesson, it is a notable expression of Lorraine’s Baroque architecture. Its pale stone façade is organized around paired columns, sculpted figures and two symmetrical towers crowned with dark, bulb-shaped roofs, creating a formal silhouette above the surrounding shops. The façade is especially recognizable when viewed across the square, where its vertical lines and balanced composition contrast with the movement of market life. Inside, the church remains an active place of worship, with a spacious nave and restrained classical detailing.
