📍 France
The Église Notre Dame de Liesse is an historic church located in the city of Annecy, France. This neo-gothic church was built between 1899 and 1906 and is renowned for its symmetrical structure and its magnificent stained-glass windows. It stands in the old city, at the foot of an imposing sandstone cliff known as La Chappelle de Liesse. The church is home to some exceptional statues, paintings and stained-glass windows, all of which were created by some of the most famous French artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Inside, you can admire a wooden sculpture of the Virgin Mary which was crafted by F. Jannel in 1907. The church also houses a museum created to commemorate the life and death of Saint Marie de Nantua, a native of Annecy who died in 1662. The church's modern structure is an excellent spot for sightseeing and exploring the historic city. It offers an incredible view of Annecy and its surroundings, and is a perfect place for those who enjoy traditional French architecture.
