Located in the popular Lincoln Park in the beautiful city of Chicago, the Education Pavilion, also known as the South Pond, is an iconic experience for tourists and locals alike. Visitors can explore the nature trails throughout the park, enjoy fishing, kayaking, and other recreational activities, as well as observe more than 200 species of birds and other wildlife. Serving as a gentle reminder of the importance of nature conservation, the Education Pavilion was established in 2014 as a part of the Chicago Park District's science-education mission. The pavilion was designed in a geodesic pattern and is sided with thermally modified wood, making it a surprisingly eco-friendly landmark. It offers stunning views of the sun setting over the lake and is a favorite spot for photography, bird-watching, and relaxing.
