Plaza de la Encarnación is a stunning public space located in the heart of Madrid, Spain. Built in the 18th century, it is centered on a fountain dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, with a statue of the Virgin Mary sitting atop the structure which is surrounded by 8 cascading bowls, each of them displaying the crest of Madrid. On the surrounding sides of the square lies the city market, Mercado de San Miguel, well known to locals for its vast selection of delicacies, as well as a nearby building, the Palacio Real de Madrid, a beautiful structure with intricate details seen in its columns and balconies. The square is a great place for relaxation after a day of touring, with its comfortable benches and vibrant atmosphere. It is also a popular spot for nightlife, as its bustling restaurants and bars are always filled with energy.
