Ecluse de Grand Carré is a navigable aqueduct in the commune of Saint-André-lez-Lille, in northern France. The aqueduct was built in 1934 and consists of two parts: an open waterway running over five kilometres and an underground section. The aqueduct is 250 metres long and 4.25 metres high. It is designed to accommodate vessels with a draft of up to 3.5 metres. It is a popular site for recreational boating and water sports. The Ecluse de Grand Carré also draws visitors for its remarkable architecture: it is artfully crafted from steel arches and intricate brickwork. The structure is divided into four parts, which are visible both from the banks of the waterway and from the area's main road. The Ecluse de Grand Carré is an excellent spot for travellers and photographers to visit, with plenty of unique views and opportunities to capture stunning images of the bridge and the surrounding landscape.
