East Side Gallery is the longest remaining stretch of the Berlin Wall, located in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg borough of Berlin, Germany. It is an open-air memorial of art created by more than 118 artists from all around the world. Released upon the reunification of the city in 1990, the gallery serves as a reminder of the division of East and West Berlin. It features a variety of graffiti art and murals, each painting its own memorable story. The famous graffiti painting of the kissing couple captures the moments of reunification. Additionally, the mural of a man climbing over the barbed wire is a beautiful tribute of freedom.
