Eas a’ Ranca, commonly known as Assaranca Waterfall, lies in the townland of Meentashask near Ardara in County Donegal, on the road toward Maghera. The cascade spreads across stepped, dark rock before gathering in a pool beside the road, framed by moss, ferns and the steep green slopes typical of western Donegal. Rainfall can transform its fine white streams into a powerful, broad curtain, creating strong contrast with the surrounding stone and vegetation. Its roadside setting provides a close, frontal view without a long approach, while the layered rock and changing water volume give the scene much of its visual character.
