The DuSable Bridge spans the Chicago River, connecting downtown Chicago's Michigan Avenue to the north side of the city. It is one of the city's most iconic sights with its Gothic Revival architecture and decorative lighting. The bridge opened in 1920 and has since been a crucial link between the two sides of the city. Today, the DuSable Bridge is a notable tourist attraction, offering beautiful views over the city no matter the time of day. For pedestrians and cyclists, it offers a convenient route from one side of the city to the other. It's also a great spot for people watching as it's often bustling with activity. As a nod to its namesake, Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable, the city's first non-indigenous settler and founder of Chicago, there is a park on the north side named after him.
