Nice Cathedral, known as the Duomo of Nice, is a Roman Catholic church situated in the heart of the city. It was built over two hundred years ago, but its current state is a result of an extensive reconstruction in the 19th century. Its walls are decorated with murals and sculptures by popular local and international artists and the church has served as an important religious and social center in the city of Nice ever since its completion. Inside, there are four aisles, a grand altar and a beautiful nave that have been reconstructed from the old foundation of the earlier monastery at the site. All around the church, visitors can find some interesting and unique attractions like an amazing bell tower, an old wooden tower and a stunning crypt. The Duomo of Nice Cathedral is an impressive and highly significant place of worship that is also a nice spot for a morning stroll.
