Duomo di Milano, or Milan Cathedral, is the famous Gothic cathedral located in the center of the city. The impressive architecture of the cathedral is a sight to behold with its pinkish marble and dozens of spires brightening the skyline of the historic city. Its roof terraces, spires and galleries provide breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The interior of the cathedral is an imposing display of sculptures, mosaics, and stained glass windows. Within the Duomo there are also three spectacular altars known as the 'Tre Madonne'. A trip to the Duomo would not be complete without exploring the underground area, which is home to the Royal Tombs as well as hundreds of statues, including some of the earliest what remain from the Roman era.
