The Duomo di San Giorgio is an impressive 17th century baroque religious building located in Modica, Italy. Built by renowned local architect Rosario Gagliardi, it shows off the talent of local masons, stonemasons, and marble workers. This stunning structure stands out proudly amongst the town's dusty streets and red-tiled roofs, symbolizing the immense religious heritage of Sicily. Inside, intricate frescoes and tall pillars envelop worshippers in a patrimony of faith, while confessionals and choirs give visitors a glimpse into the traditions of Italian Catholicism. Out in the piazza, the giant statue of San Giorgio stands stoically, protecting the faithful.
