The Duomo di San Gennaro is the city's main cathedral and a must-see for all visitors to Napoli. Located in the city center, it stands near Castel Nuovo and the Palazzo Reale, making it a fantastic spot to explore the city’s history. The Duomo is known for its detailed façade, an impressive work of Sicilian-Gothic architecture. The interior boasts frescoes and stucco by Francesco Solimena, Paolo De Matteis and others, as well as frescoes that span 16th to 19th centuries from artists such as Luca Giordano. The entirety of the cathedral is an incredible masterpiece of incredible art and history. Make sure you allow plenty of time to walk through its massive nave, wander around its cloisters, and explore its chapels – including the Chapel of Santa Restituta. It is an awe-inspiring attraction, truly worth a visit!
