Drottningholm Palace is the best-preserved royal palace from the 1600s in Sweden. Located just outside of Stockholm, it serves as the residence for the Swedish royal family. Built in the Baroque style, the palace includes an opera house, a theatre, and stunning landscaped gardens. The palace is open to visitors who can take a guided tour through its many rooms and by the lake. Not to be missed: the collection of royal portraiture, the formal royal gardens, and the royal theatre. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
