Drekkingarhylur is a picturesque waterfalls located in the southernmost region of Iceland, just off of Highway 1. It is an amazing sight to behold, especially during the summer months. Drekkingarhylur cascades down from a rocky mountain face into a deep pool of turquoise blue water. A brief walk around the lake will take travelers to a stunning viewpoint, providing postcard-worthy views of the falls and the surrounding area. At its highest point, the falls stretch over 25 metres in height. During calm spring and summer days, a rainbow may even appear over the falls - a perfect photo opportunity. It’s the perfect destination for any nature lover, with the area covered in greenery and wildflowers in the summer months.
