📍 From Fingal Head Lighthouse, Australia
Dreamtime Beach stretches south from Fingal Head toward Kingscliff on the Tweed coast of northern New South Wales. Backed by dunes and coastal vegetation, it presents a long sweep of sand facing the open Pacific, rather than a built-up waterfront. At its northern end, Fingal Head’s dark columnar basalt records ancient lava flows associated with the Tweed volcano, creating a striking contrast with the pale beach and breaking surf. Cook Island’s low, green silhouette sits offshore, a recognizable feature of views from this coast. The shoreline’s curve and the transition from sand to volcanic rock give wider photographs a strong sense of the local landscape.
