๐ From Dovercourt Bay Bench, United Kingdom
Dovercourt Inner Lighthouse, located on the east coast of Essex, United Kingdom, is an iconic beacon that dates back to the 19th century. The whitewashed building proudly squints out over the ocean and is situated between Harwich and Lowestoft and is unique in its design. It has been a prominent feature of the coastal landscape and was once a vital signpost for ships coming in from sea. Nowadays, the Dovercourt Inner Lighthouse is a beloved historic symbol of the English coast and a great spot for photographers. With two levels of viewing on offer, visitors can take some fantastic pictures with both coastal views and maritime pictures of incoming boats. The night-time views of the lighthouse casting its guide-light over the darkness of the horizon are worth the trip alone! Entry is free and the area surrounding the lighthouse makes for a great day out.
