DOT bioscoop Groningen is an old school cinema located in the city of Groningen in the Netherlands. The cinema first opened its doors in 1901 and since then has had a vibrant history as an international cinema, as well as one of the last cinemas to screen exclusively 35 mm film. Famous for its relaxed atmosphere, the cinema offers a variety of films showing, from art house and world cinema, to documentary and Oscar-winners, as well as regular programs from local and international cineastes. The venue also offers fun activities like beer tasting, special screenings and various film related activities. Its location in the heart of Groningen’s city centre, makes it a great place for visitors to visit and experience. Visitors can also enjoy the cinema’s art deco interior, comfortable couch seating and an old-school popcorn machine. For a unique experience, visitors can take a seat in the DOT Open Air Theatre during the warmer months. Like many cinemas, DOT bioscoop Groningen also offers student discounts.
