Doongal Aboriginal Art & Artefacts is set in the small tropical village of Kuranda, Australia. It is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the original occupants of this land: the Djabugay people. The centre offers a wide range of unique artefacts, such as carved trees, bark paintings & tools, ceremonial dress, and decorated didgeridoos. You can learn about the culture of the Aboriginal people through a variety of interactive activities, demonstrations and interactive displays. The knowledgeable guides provide insightful and entertaining talks about the cultural life of the Aboriginal people, traditional tools and artefacts, as well as traditional dancing. The centre also hosts an array of cultural talks, workshops and events, giving visitors a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture and history.
