
The Dom zu Münster, located in Münster, Germany, is a magnificent Gothic style church that is part of the city’s famous 19th-century centerpiece. The building dates back to 1225 and is a masterpiece of architecture. It is the city’s main landmark, having been largely rebuilt in the 1870s, and today visitors will find a host of sculptures, intricate stained glass windows and historic tombs that line its walls. There is also a Chapel of Reconciliation, located on the lower level with a number of surviving frescoes that were painted in the 16th-century. Visitors climbing the 284-step tower will be rewarded with a sweeping view of the city below.
