Dom Pod Siedmioma Elektorami, the House of the Seven Electors, is a historic townhouse on the western side of Wrocław’s Rynek, the main market square. Its richly painted Baroque façade depicts Emperor Leopold I and the electors of the Holy Roman Empire, the princes entitled to choose the emperor. This imperial imagery recalls the city’s place within Habsburg-ruled Silesia. Painted figures and illusionistic architectural ornament spread across the façade around its rows of windows, making the building recognizable among the square’s tall, narrow townhouses. The decorative gable gives it a distinctive skyline profile, while closer views reveal the portraits and intricate painted details.
