📍 Vietnam
Động Thiên Đường, known as Paradise Cave, is a vast limestone cave within Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park in central Vietnam. It belongs to the region’s extensive karst landscape, where water has carved underground passages through limestone over geological time. The cave extends for more than 30 kilometers, but the standard visitor route follows a wooden boardwalk through roughly the first kilometer. Inside, high chambers contain towering stalagmites, hanging stalactites, and rippled flowstone resembling folded curtains. Artificial lighting reveals the formations’ layered textures, while the boardwalk and visitors provide a sense of their immense scale. The contrast between the narrow entrance and the expansive interior is one of the cave’s most distinctive visual features.
