Dique Potrerillos

Dique Potrerillos and Túnel de Cacheuta are two districts located in the east of the town of Luján de Cuyo, a town in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. They are connected by a bridge named Puente Cristo Libertador, surrounded by views of snow-capped mountains and a large lake. These two districts are among the most beautiful places in Mendoza and are home to many attractions for travelers and photographers.

Dique Potrerillos is the largest dam in Argentina, created in 1933, and it is located in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes, making it perfect for outdoor activities such as trekking, power kite, fly fishing, horseback riding and even bungee jumping. From the dam, you can admire breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains and the lake. At Túnel de Cacheuta you can find a small lagoon that turns into a waterfall when the water level rises and a dam built in 1996 to recharge the upper basin of the Mendoza River. The district is a popular destination for trekking and mountain biking, as it has many trails and tracks in its surroundings.
