Dinant is a charming small town in the province of Namur, Belgium, along the Meuse River. It is known for its Notre Dame Cathedral, 19th-century stone bridge and medieval castle ruins. Dinant is also home to the Caves of Dinant, which are a 80,000-year-old system of underground caves located in the limestone cliffs that line the Meuse River. The caves offer guided tours and scuba diving, as well as regular concerts. For a leisurely stroll, the Promenade de la Meuse winds along the river's edge and offers beautiful views of the city. The Conservatory of Dinant is an interesting collection of plants and flowers, as well as some exotic birds. The town market, open Wednesday mornings and Saturdays, is a colorful scene where visitors can savor some local specialties.
