📍 United States
The David Stott Building is a 38-story Art Deco skyscraper on Griswold Street beside Capitol Park in downtown Detroit. Completed in 1929 and designed by Donaldson and Meier, it belongs to the city’s wave of skyscraper construction just before the Great Depression. Named for businessman David Stott, the tower combines a slender brick shaft, strong vertical lines and setbacks that narrow toward its crown. Views across Capitol Park emphasize its height against the lower historic buildings surrounding the square, while geometric detailing at the entrance brings its Art Deco character down to pedestrian scale.
