📍 From Inside, Spain
The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, Spain, is the city's most important attraction and the artist's largest, most ambitious and best-known project. Designed in 1974 by Salvador Dalí himself, the building was originally an old theatre that was converted into an art museum dedicated to the works of the surrealist genius. The museum houses over 2,000 artistic works including over 1,000 of his paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry and drawings. It is also the location of his crypt, where the artist was laid to rest in 1989. Visitors can also explore the Museo de Juguetes (Toy Museum) which contains over 400 historically relevant toys. Along with all the art and artifacts, the museum features various interactive displays and a short film about Dalí’s life and works. Exploring the Dalí Theatre-Museum is an unforgettable experience and a must-see for any admirer of the artist.
