Da Nang is a major coastal city in central Vietnam, set where the Han River meets the East Sea and framed by the Son Tra Peninsula and the Marble Mountains. Its cityscape combines a working port, broad beaches, modern towers and a distinctive sequence of river crossings, including the yellow, dragon-shaped Dragon Bridge. The waterfront is especially recognizable after dark, when illuminated bridges and high-rises reflect across the Han, while the eastern shore opens onto long arcs of pale sand. Da Nang also provides cultural context for the wider region through the Museum of Cham Sculpture, whose collection reflects the legacy of the Cham kingdoms that once shaped central Vietnam.
