The Cupola di Brunelleschi is a must-see for any visit to Firenze. It's one of the city's iconic landmarks that symbolises the power of the Renaissance. Located at the Florence Cathedral, it was designed and built in the 1420s by the renowned architect Filippo Brunelleschi. The impressive dome stands tall over the city, reaching a height of 114.5 meters and a diameter of 45.5 meters. The dome is made from a double shell of bricks and is decorated with eight-pointed stars and a garland of pomegranates. A humbling sight, it's a reminder of Florence's extraordinary history and Brunelleschi's ingenious architectural genius. Visitors can admire the architecture themselves or take a guided tour to the top of the dome to get a bird's-eye view of the Renaissance city.
