📍 Spain
Cueva del Agua is a stunning river cave located in the municipality of Tíscar, Jaén, southern Spain. Its name literally translates to "Water Cave" and it resides in the valley of the Almonte-Etanque. The cave starkly contrasts with the white-washed homes in the area - a product of the nearby sierras. It was formed by the Rio Tíscar, carved by the currents and winds which formed the winding corridors and walls.

Throughout the cave, you can explore many limestone formations within the river waters. A number of stalactites, stalagmites and other naturally made beautiful sculptures cover the walls and ceiling of the cave. Further along, the Cave of Water opens up to a room where the water inside has created such an impressive visual scene. It is possible to book guided tours of the Cueva del Agua, so ensure you grab a ticket for optimal exploration. As you travel you’ll witness unique stone formations and powerful and ethereal water activities. The cave's excellent preservation has made it an important part of the region's cultural heritage.
