Crater Lake and Pumice Castle, in Oregon, United States, is a fascinating geological formation which has been around since the eruption of Mount Mazama over 7,700 years ago. The lake sits in the caldera at about 1,943 ft.Its deep waters are the perfect shade of blue bluish-green, and a hike around the lake, although relatively short, offers great views of the lake and of the steep walls that define the caldera.

Parts of the pumice are quite fragile, be careful as you explore this landscape.
