Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park

Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Australia and is situated in the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Areas. The park is home to a 14-km circuit of alpine and glacial lakes, rugged peaks, temperate rainforests, and has a strong connection with the environment that has been in place since ancient times. The main feature of the park is Cradle Mountain, a 500 m-high peak that is surrounded by glacial lakes. There are a variety of walks to choose from, ranging from easy (1-2 hours) to more strenuous (all day). Popular activities in the area include bushwalking, canoeing and kayaking, photography, scenic drives, fishing and bird watching. A variety of accommodation options, from camping to hotels, are available. There are also plenty of excellent restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as plenty of souvenir shops.
