Crabtree Falls is located in the town of Burnsville in the US state of Virginia. It is considered to be one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Appalachian Mountains, with a stunning free-falling cascade of water that plunges 400+ feet down a dramatic cliff. The falls are situated in a beautiful mountain setting with a surround of oak and hemlock trees. The hike to the falls is easy and the payoff huge, offering amazing views the entire way. From the top the panoramic vista of both forested slopes and the crisp White Rocks, serves as a backdrop for the waterfall's splendor. It is an ideal spot for nature photography. There is also a little gift shop, friendly wildlife and a picnic area.
