The Couvent des Jacobins is a beautiful and historic convent complex located in Toulouse, France. Founded in 1230, the Couvent des Jacobins is the only fully-preserved Dominican convent in all of Europe. Its centerpiece is its 12th-century cloister, celebrated as one of the most sublime examples of Gothic architecture in all of France. It features a magnificent double-storey portico and lavishly decorated capitals that highlight the beauty of the structure. Inside, visitors will find various chapels, most notably the Chapel of Saint Dominic, adorned with precious frescoes, paintings and statues. In addition, there is also the impressive refectory, which contains a 12th-century Romanesque rood and beautiful stained-glass windows.
