The Coronado Bridge, also known as the San Diego-Coronado Bridge, is an iconic 2.1-mile long bridge connecting San Diego and the city of Coronado, crossing San Diego Bay in California, U.S.A. It is a steel girder bridge supported by two 200-foot-tall concrete piers, making it the third longest bridge of its type in the United States. The bridge features a signature arch bowstring truss, a four-lane highway with full shoulders, a 400-foot-long navigational clearance for ships to pass underneath and unique lighting. Completed in 1969, the bridge is the main access point between Coronado and downtown San Diego and is an impressive sight day or night.
