The Louvre Museum is the world's largest art museum and a historic monument in Paris, France. It houses some of the world's greatest works of art, from paintings, sculptures and ancient artifacts to decorative arts and architectural collections. Founded in 1793, the Louvre holds one of the largest collections of fine art in the world and is unique in its range of styles, periods and mediums. Among the many masterpieces held in the museum are the Mona Lisa by da Vinci, Venus de Milo, the Nike of Samothrace and the Code of Hammurabi. Guided tours, audio tours, and brief queue jumps are available to visitors. The Louvre Museum is open every day but Tuesday, with extended opening hours in the evenings during summertime.

In the summertime, the Louvre opens to stay open until 9:45 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays and late night openings on the first Saturday of each month to midnight with access to all of its exhibition areas. Entrance fees vary for adult ticket prices and there are special discounts for students, children and families.
