The Colonnae in Arkhangel'skoe, Russia is a stunning relic of the formerly grand and powerful manor houses of Russia's nobility from the 18th century. Arkhangel'skoe is located inside the Istra River region and is only 35 km from the center of Moscow. The Colonnade, built by Golizyn family in the 1780s in the late Baroque style is today one of the best preserved monuments in Arkhangel'skoe’s park-museum complex. It consists of two columns, connected by a curved bridge, built on the edge of a beautiful mosaic-like valley that hides a picturesque pond. The building was crowned with an onion-shaped dome and is embellished with ornate white stone decoration. It is one of the most popular landmarks in the area and is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. There is a viewing platform from which visitors can get the best view of the Valley and the pond. While there, visitors can also explore the Istra river and its stunning landscapes nearby.
