Cologne Cathedral, or Kölner Dom, is a medieval masterpiece and a true icon of the city of Köln in Germany. The two spires of the cathedral, which rise 157 and 143 meters high, are visible from most parts of the city. The grand building, built in impressive Gothic style, features two grand towers, five aisles along the length of the building and a central nave reaching up to the high vaulted ceilings. Inside, you can find 16th century tombs and intricate Gothic stonework, and also numerous impressive stained glass windows. Visitors of the cathedral can take a lift to the southern tower to experience the incredible panoramic view of the city. Admission to the cathedral is free, but a fee is charged for tours, visitors center and the lift up to the towers.
