Cologne Cathedral is a Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral located in the city of Köln, Germany. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in Germany, having been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1996.

This impressive cathedral was built over a period of 600 years, from 1248 to 1880, and is renowned for its extraordinary Gothic architecture. It is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and boasts an impressive 161 m tall twin spires, making it an enduring symbol of the region. Inside, visitors will find intricate frescoes and an array of stained glass windows, amongst other features. The cathedral also houses the Shrine of the Three Kings, which is said to contain the remains of the Three Kings mentioned in the Bible. As history has it, the relics were brought here in 1164, adding to the cathedral’s spiritual significance. The cathedral’s impressive architecture draws visitors and photographers from everywhere. The exterior of the church is best enjoyed during the day, while its stunning stained glass windows look beautiful when lit up during sunset.
