The Collegiata di San Lorenzo is Montecosaro’s principal church, standing on Piazza Trieste at the heart of the hilltop historic center in the province of Macerata. Its restrained brick façade blends with the surrounding civic buildings, while the bell tower provides a strong vertical landmark above the tightly packed roofs. The title “collegiata” reflects its historic status as a church served by a college of clergy. From the square, the church can be photographed within Montecosaro’s broader architectural setting, combining worn paving, warm masonry and the compact proportions characteristic of old inland Marche towns.
