Colegiata de Santa Juliana, located in Santillana del Mar, Spain, is a stunning pre-Romanesque church, built in the 8th century, and consecrated by King Alfonso II in 848. It is one of the most famous monuments in Cantabria, and has served as a place of worship, education and protection to locals over the centuries. It has a stunning Romanesque façade, with a 12th century entrance door and its bell tower, rising above the church and the village. Inside the church, you can find a severe, three-aisled nave and a presbytery with five apses, in addition to a crypt, a consecratory and chapels. The decoration inside is mainly Baroque, as the Romanesque payramids, which are among its oldest elements, are covered by it. There is also a museum that houses some of the most valuable collection of Romanesque art from Santillana del Mar and the region. Colegiata de Santa Juliana is a must-see for any traveler visiting Santillana del Mar, and its beautiful views will definitely wow any photographer.
