The Col du Glandon is a spectacular mountain pass located in the Savoie region of France, near the town of Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves. The mountain pass is 8,125 feet (2,472 meters) high and offers incredible views of the surrounding valleys and alpine peaks. Visitors can take the "Route des Grandes Alpes", the long road along the Alps, to reach the top of the Glandon, plus short trails for hikes near the lake at the summit. The Col du Glandon hosts the mountain races for the timeless Tour de France, with the Col de la Croix de Fer nearby. Famous cyclists such as Armstrong and Coppi have raced up and down the route, leaving a historic legacy along the way. The views of the eternally-snow-capped Mt Blanc, tucked away in the distance, complete the Col du Glandon experience. The area also offers a wide range of activities such as mountaineering and downhill skiing in the winter. Undoubtedly, a great way to admire the beauty of this Alpine area!
