The City Church of The Holy Trinity in Bayreuth, Germany, is the oldest church in the city. Built in the mid 15th century, it is an absolute treasure with its late Baroque architectural style. With its two towers at the front, the church dominates the local skyline. Inside it is adorned with stunning stucco and ceiling murals, and frescos of Saints and scenes from the New Testament. Make sure to visit the Crypt with its 54 finely crafted marble tombs of members of the Margraves of Bayreuth family, who were rulers of the city during the 15th and 16th centuries. The church also boasts an organ with more than 4,000 pipes and 4 keyboards, which was rebuilt in the 1940's. Beware that the church is closed during the midday, after lunch.
